Classics Illustrated First Printings Near Complete Set 1940s 1950s Over 100
Up for sale is this fantastic set of Classics Illustrated comics. Feel free to make an offer. All of these look to be from the 1940s and 1950s. They all clearly show they age and mid-century provenance.

Many of them are first printings, as indicated by the advertisement for the next issue on the inner cover. Basically, number 51 and onward all appear to be first printings.

Of these first printings, I have 51-121, with the following issues missing as first printings: 54, 108, 111, 112, 117, 118. Again, all the rest from 51-121 look to be first printings. I believe that is 64 first printings total. Ive gone through these to check for the advertisement for the next issue, and unless I missed one to two, they all have it.

The following first print things are partially missing the cover or missing the cover: 61 and 71. The rest seem to just have an advertisement for other issues in the set, or for some storage/collecting material, and not for the next issue. Among these, 1-11 or absent, as is number 29, 41.

The following are missing the covers 31, 41. There is also a duplicate of number 47, 20,000 leagues under the sea, each of which have different artwork on the cover. I also have number 91, The Call of the Wild, as a duplicate. I also Number 75, the Lady of the Lake, as a duplicate. Both of these I think are not first printings.

The condition varies in each comic. They were at one time bound with a kind of three-ring style binder.

There are also some staples along the edges. The vast majority are fully intact and in decent shape, except a handful are missing their back covers or are in rougher condition. The original owner's name is also either handwritten or stamped on most of the covers. As a bonus, this set also includes a number 27 of the Classic Comics series entitled The Adventures of Marco Polo. I believe this is a second printing.

There are also three other comics from the Classics Illustrated Series on The War Between the States (probably sent to Southern readers), The Civil War, and The Story of America. There are just over 100 comics in the set. Please ask any and all questions prior to purchasing. I can only upload 12 photos, so its just not possible for me to upload detailed shots of everything.
