Offered is a very rare partial, but near complete and articulated bird. An extinct rail and a relative of gallinules and coots, preserved in very fine detail, including both complete articulated forelimbs (wings) with humerus /radius-ulna and fused carpals/metacarpals intact. The specimen is preserved in approximate dorso-ventral compression with part of the articulated spine intact, and the pelvic girdle with both femurs articulated, and the pectoral girdle and wings intact too. Only the skull and lower hind-limbs are absent.

All the bone material is replaced in an attractive pale cream-coloured mineral that contrasts well with the dark resin matrix............ 13cm X 17cm X 1cm. Altogether a fascinating and displayable legacy of Eocene life at an affordable price!
