Life Magazine Collection (1936-1972) 1800 Issues Nearly Complete
Approximately 1,800 issues in collection. Missing twelve issues: June 2, 1941; October 10, 1949; November 21, 1949; January 16, 1950; February 6, 1950; February 27, 1950; June 12, 1950; January 15, 1951; January 22, 1951; February 20, 1959; November 29, 1963 (original "Roger Staubach" issue; the alternate "JFK" issue is included); June 30, 1967 (alternate issue). Six other alternate issues are also included. All issues are obviously used, with covers in fair to very good condition.
All are complete; nothing is cut out. The majority of the collection was bought from a family in Rhode Island in 1975, and a mailing label is on the front of these issues. At least one cover is signed by the woman pictured, and there are a few mailing label co-incidences. The collection is currently housed in four light metal shelved cabinets; two years per shelf. The cabinets have closing doors and so the collection has been shielded from all light.
The collection is now housed on the third floor of a house, and has been protected from light. The stairways and hallways will be cleared before the move takes place. The collection can be moved by removing each year separately (appropriate boxes suggested). A truck would be ideal for transportation.
